Hey there!

We’re guessing you found this site because you used used the word ‘Traps’ to find porn featuring trans women.

Although that term has been used, and you may even find models using the word ‘trap’ to refer to themselves,  it may be considered a derogatory word and offensive to many in the trans community.  As one of the most forward-thinking adult companies, we are moving away from using these terms so our performers can feel good about how they are portrayed on our sites, and our members can visit the sites without feeling uncomfortable about the terminology.   Some words which are problematic may include ‘shemale’, ‘tranny’, ‘shehe/heshe’, ‘traps’, ‘chick with dick’, etc.

What is a ‘Trap’ and why is it a problem word?

The term is one that comes from online culture and has been used to describe a transgender girl who looks so ‘convincing’ that she attracts guys who aren’t aware that she is trans.  Upon revealing her genitals to a sexual partner, that partner has been ‘trapped’ into thinking he was going to have sex with a ‘real’ (sic) girl.  Another way it’s been used is to describe how a trans girl can trap a guy into having sex with her, without revealing that she’s transgender.

There have been girls who take the ‘trap’ word as part of their name and see it as a ‘status symbol’, mainly those coming from 4chan (and on occasion Reddit) although many have since changed their name (the most well-known being Bailey Jay, who started in porn as ‘Line Trap’).  The word is particularly problematic because it implies that this is both a behavior that trans women (or trans men) do, and that one would need to be ‘trapped’ to have sex with a trans person, much how in some of the early transgender porn had the ‘tranny surprise’ scenario in many of their scenes.

We don’t pretend to speak for everyone – we understand that language is subjective and people have different opinions on the matter. If you want to learn more about the trans community, we suggest checking out the HRC’s trans section, reading community magazine Transformation, or attending the annual Transgender Erotica Awards in Hollywood, CA.
